Biography
Jeffrey D. Chien is a Partner at Chung & Reynolds, where his practice focuses on business litigation with an emphasis on trial strategy and dispute resolution. He represents businesses, property owners, investors, organizations and others in complex commercial disputes throughout California.
Mr. Chien is regularly entrusted with matters requiring disciplined motion practice, deposition control, and courtroom readiness. He works closely with clients to develop strategic approaches tailored to the facts and risks of each case, pursuing efficient resolutions when appropriate while remaining fully prepared to proceed through trial or arbitration.
His trial and arbitration experience includes complex disputes involving nonprofit governance, commercial possession actions, real estate nondisclosure and partition claims, and investment fraud.
As a Partner, Mr. Chien leads matters from inception through resolution and contributes to litigation strategy across the firm. He also mentors junior attorneys on case management and trial preparation.
Mr. Chien earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, where he received a Business Law Certificate. He earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State University, Los Angeles, where he began his undergraduate studies at age fifteen through the university’s Early Entrance Program.
Mr. Chien is admitted to practice in California and is fluent in Mandarin and Shanghainese.
